Pair of Georg Jensen Silver Candelabra - Lot 232
Pair of Georg Jensen Silver Candelabra A pair of three-light silver candelabra by Georg Jensen, featuring an elegant and sculptural design, resting on a molded oval base. The baluster shaft supports two sinuous arms adorned with stylized foliage motifs, characteristic of Georg Jensen’s naturalistic design language. The candle holders and sockets feature soft, slightly flared shapes. Both pieces bear the vintage “GJ” hallmarks beneath the base, along with the Danish hallmark “DENMARK” and a numbered rectangular hallmark. Based on the type of Georg Jensen hallmark, these candelabras can be dated to the company’s early production period, likely around 1920–1930 and thus during Georg Jensen’s lifetime. Signs of wear, fine scratches, and slight oxidation consistent with the piece’s age. Origin: Denmark · Period: circa 1920–1930 · Material: silver · Height: 20.5 cm · Width: 26 cm · Total weight: approx. 1,850 g · Marks: GJ, Danish hallmarks, DENMARK
