Double-walled Agaseke Tutsi Basket, Rwanda A lidded basket of the Agaseke type, attributed to the Tutsi of Rwanda and dating from the early 20th century. Made of finely woven plant fibers, it features a double-walled structure with a slender cylindrical body and a conical lid tapering to a high point. The decoration alternates between dark horizontal bands and diagonal patterns woven into the basketwork. The lightweight and even construction attests to precise basketry work. Antique patina with slight warping, wear, and irregularities resulting from use.
