An elongated oval-shaped shield made of finely woven plant fibers over a reinforced frame. The front features a simple geometric design, composed of bands and negative-space motifs created by variations in the natural tones of the weave. The back is fitted with a large wooden grip plate, reinforced with fan-shaped strips of fiber, and features a central handle.
Beautiful patina from use, with wear, slight deformations, small chips, and old repairs consistent with the object’s age and function.
