Fiber Shield from the Congo - Bandia/Nzakara - 20th century An elongated oval-shaped shield made of finely woven plant fibers over a reinforced frame. The front features a geometric design composed of compartments alternating between natural brown and dark brown tones. On the reverse, a central wooden plate is fitted with a rope handle and surrounded by fibers arranged in a fan pattern. Beautiful patina from use, with wear, small losses, and old repairs consistent with the object’s age and function. Probably late 19th or early 20th century. Dimensions: 88 × 37 cm - Weight: 1.1 kg
