Kongo - Democratic Republic of the Congo - Wooden whistle - First half of the 20th century Small carved wooden whistle, tapered in shape, with two lateral openings serving as acoustic mouthpieces. The flared upper part forms the mouthpiece, while the body is slightly faceted, ending in a turned tip. Two small pierced side elements mark the sound holes. This type of whistle was used in a ritual or ceremonial context to produce sound signals during gatherings or ritual activities. The surface has a light-brown patina from use. Height: 10 cm - Width 4 cm - Weight: 15 gr.
