Baule pendant in the form of a knife in its scabbard - Ivory Coast - first half of the 20th century Carved ivory pendant representing a stylized knife in its scabbard. The surface is entirely decorated with incised geometric motifs forming registers of cross-hatching, chevrons and linear bands. The main face features a central squared panel surrounded by small circular reliefs arranged in an arc. The lower part evokes the shape of a scabbard, while the handle is rendered by a cylindrical element composed of ringed volumes. This type of pendant was worn as a personal ornament. Patina of use.
