The shafts are adorned with geometric relief decorations, while the sconces feature a crenellated gallery pierced with trefoils. One piece bears a foundry mark cast beneath the base. This pair is part of the German artistic cast iron tradition known as “Berlin Iron,” which was particularly prized in the 19th century for the delicacy of its ornamentation and its historicist aesthetic.
