Henri Cazaux – Ceramic Vase – Vallauris - Lot 147
Henri Cazaux – Ceramic Vase – Vallauris
Ceramic vase by Henri Cazaux (1923–2011), created in Vallauris between the 1950s and 1970s. A member of the renowned Cazaux family of ceramicists originally from Ciboure, Henri Cazaux developed a personal style in Vallauris characterized by sgraffito decorations and abstract compositions with luminous glazes. This piece features a geometric design evoking stylized fish shapes or organic motifs, rendered in a palette of deep blues, turquoise, and brown on a nuanced ivory background. The marbled glaze and brushstrokes highlight the piece’s artisanal character. The vase is signed on the base and is a fine example of Vallauris’s production during the golden age of postwar French ceramics. In good overall condition.
Details: Height 29.5 cm.
