Horst Dalbeck – Brutalist Bronze Candlestick - Lot 132
Horst Dalbeck – Brutalist Bronze Candlestick A five-armed Brutalist candlestick made of solid bronze, designed by Horst Dalbeck and produced by HDV in Germany in the 1960s. Its sculptural design with organic lines evokes antlers or a stylized plant form, characteristic of the formal language developed by the designer. Crafted from cast bronze with a deliberately textured surface, it exemplifies the postwar Brutalist aesthetic, which emphasized expressive forms and materiality. This five-burner model serves as both a functional object and a decorative sculpture representative of 1960s German design. It features a beautiful original patina and is in very good overall condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with its age. Details: Height 17 cm – Width 26.5 cm – Weight 2.460 kg.
