Seascape with sailboats in the harbor, signed and dated 1928 - Lot 87

Seascape with sailboats in the harbor, signed and dated 1928 Watercolor on paper depicting several sailboats moored in a harbor. The masts and rigging stand out against a cloudy sky rendered in soft shades of gray and blue, while the reflections on the water contribute to the scene’s calm atmosphere. The work follows the tradition of early 20th-century seascapes, with particular attention paid to light and atmospheric effects. A barely legible signature and the date “1928” are visible in the lower right corner. Mounted under glass in a gilded wooden frame bearing a “Hollandsche School” plaque.
