The reverse side is backed with a canvas lining intended for reinforcement and hanging. Greenery tapestries of this type were particularly popular in aristocratic and bourgeois residences of the 17th and 18th centuries.
Details: woven wool and linen – France, Aubusson/Felletin (attributed) – 17th–18th century – original backing on the reverse – wear, restoration, and discoloration from use.
Dimensions: 314 × 238 cm.
