Gilded wooden sun-shaped wall clock, early 20th century Decorative wall clock made of carved and gilded wood, designed in the shape of a radiant sun. The circular dial with Roman numerals is set at the center of a composition of rays alternating between straight and wavy forms, inspired by sunburst mirror designs and Louis XIV-style décor. This type of piece was widely produced during the early decades of the 20th century for interior decoration. Movement housed on the reverse side within the central body.
