Small Tutsi agaseke in braided raffia - Rwanda - first half 20th century Small, low-shaped Tutsi agaseke with conical lid, made of finely braided raffia fibers and decorated with dark brown linear motifs on a natural background. These baskets were used in Rwandan society to store food, milk and precious household items. The tight weave and sober motifs testify to traditional basketwork from the first half of the 20th century.
