Tutsi covered basket in beaded raffia with red and yellow geometric decoration - Rwanda - early 20th century Small covered basket woven from raffia fibers and covered with red and yellow glass beads arranged in triangular and concentric geometric patterns. The conical lid, extended by a slender cylindrical handle, is entirely beaded and features a silhouette characteristic of prestigious Tutsi basketry from Rwanda. The internal structure of plant fibers remains visible on the inside, while the beaded decoration testifies to the introduction of trade beads in court productions and presentation objects at the beginning of the 20th century.
