Baoulé - Ivory Coast - Wooden loom pulley - First half of the 20th century Carved wooden loom pulley featuring a stylized figure with pure forms. The composition features a compact body resting on two arched legs, topped by a long neck supporting a stylized head formed by a wide, almond-shaped opening. This openwork structure, characteristic of certain Ivory Coast loom pulleys, was used for the passage of loom threads. Volumes are balanced and rounded, with a smooth surface showing a dark brown to black patina resulting from use and handling. Discreet incisions on the reverse provide a simple geometric decoration. Height: 15.5 cm - Width: 6 cm - Weight: 51 gr.
