Miniature Yaka fetish - DR Congo - first half 20th century - Lot 8
Miniature Yaka fetish - DR Congo - first half 20th century Small carved wooden fetish figure representing a stylized character, typical of Yaka statuary from southwestern Democratic Republic of Congo. The head, topped with a flattened headdress, dominates a face with deeply incised almond-shaped eyes and a protruding mouth. The body is treated geometrically, with a narrow torso and a flared base forming a support. The surface has a dark patina with traces of wear and handling, indicating a small-scale personal or ritual object. Height : 10 cm - Weight : 15 g
