Chokwe / Lwena comb - Angola / DR Congo - first half 20th century Carved wooden comb featuring a row of long, fine, regular teeth topped by a plate decorated with incised geometric motifs forming triangular friezes and horizontal bands. The upper part is extended by a small cylindrical handle ending in a stylized head with schematic features, presenting a face with almond-shaped eyes and a hairstyle indicated by parallel incisions.
