Small octagonal teapot in blue and white porcelain - Qianlong period (1736-1795) Small Chinese export porcelain teapot of faceted octagonal form with matching domed lid and grip knob; each panel hand-decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with flowers and foliage in fluid, shaded brushwork, typical of the mid XVIIIᵉ century; finely shaped spout and loop handle ; glazed base inside foot with characteristic adherence sand and small firing imperfections; model inspired by European silver teapots and intended for the Western market; height 10 cm, width 12.5 cm, weight 266 g; minor wear to glaze and age-related firing defects, small chip at tip of spout, otherwise good overall condition.
