Blue and white porcelain washing brush, China, Qing dynasty, Kangxi period (1662-1722) Large circular fine porcelain washing brush, decorated underglaze with continuous scrolling lotus motifs painted in cobalt blue with marked shades of "heaping and piling", characteristic of Kangxi period production; thick walls and carefully turned heel with visible traces of firing, testifying to manufacture in Jingdezhen in the late XVIIᵉ - early XVIIIᵉ century; this type of basin was used in the scholarly context for washing brushes or as a workshop object. Details: diameter 23 cm; weight 1,017 g; material porcelain with blue underglaze decoration; condition very good overall condition, slight traces of use consistent with age, no restoration reported.
