Fluted baluster vase in patinated bronze, Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912) Fully fluted bronze vase of baluster form with double bulge, resting on a small molded pedestal. The surface has a dark green shaded patina with reddish-brown highlights and traces of natural oxidation, typical of late 19th century Japanese bronzes. Sober decorative work highlighting the modelling and play of volumes. Circular hole drilled in the center of the base. Height: 40 cm; diameter: 25 cm; weight: 4.5 kg.
