Art Nouveau copper-finish pewter tray, Kayser, Germany, early 20th century Circular pewter bowl with copper finish resting on three supports featuring stylized eagles, their heads forming the side grips and their wings extending below the tray. The naturalistic modeling of the plumage is in keeping with the Art Nouveau aesthetic, characterized by organic lines and inspiration from the animal world. Produced by Kayser, Germany, circa 1900-1910. Brown patina with wear, revealing the underlying metal in places. Diameter: 33 cm; weight: approx. 1.5 kg.
